Despite it all, we never stopped selling tickets and
never lost money on a ticketed event.
Here's how.
Guests First
It sounds cliché, but we truly stayed focused on putting our guests first!
That also mean that we kept hosting events because we knew that, despite the chaos, small business owners needed the connection and support that they weren't getting elsewhere.
There were two areas we focused on that we attribute our success to!
Health & Safety
Our founder Stephanie consulting with a host of medical and legal professionals.
She spent weeks scouring a wide variety of conflicting opinions and advice.
Then she built a 10+ page Health and Safety Manual that all of our guests and vendors sign off on agreeing to follow.
Then we proactively communicated the perimeters in advance and at the event, leveraging Stephanie's experience with psychology to ensure they were followed and never impacted the event experience.
And we have never traced viral exposures to our events!
Marketing
Let's be honest, marketing events at a time when everyone was scared to leave their homes was challenging!
One key component to our marketing success was just straight up having really good events! We never stopped bringing in quality speakers, and even invested MORE in the speakers that people really wanted to hear from.
Beyond that though, Stephanie doubled down on creative marketing strategies and taking time to evaluate & adjust strategies as needed.
Want to see one of the coolest marketing strategies we ran?
We actually produced an eight-episode fictional TV show (click to watch) that crossed The Office with a Telanovela and focused on Small Business.
It was picked up to list on IMBD and featured on TV SA, a local cable channel.
